Feral and/or Community Cats

Feral and/or Community Cats

A feral/community cat is a cat that lives outdoors and does not have a great amount of human contact. We recommend that all feral or outdoor cats receive an ear tip which is a universal sign to signify that they have been altered and have received a rabies vaccine. ¼ of the ear is surgically removed while the cat is still sedated. If this cat ends up at animal control and is ear tipped, they will usually have the cat released back where they were found since they are spayed/neutered and vaccinated. Below is an example of a cat with an ear tip.
