P.A.A.C. – People Assisting Animal Control is proud to share that we have been selected as a contractor through the Texas Department of State Health Services Texas Spay & Neuter Program (TxSNP). The program was launched by DSHS on March 19, 2026, with $13 million in legislative funding over two years to support low-cost spay and neuter services across Texas.
PAAC was listed by DSHS as serving Nueces, Bee, Willacy, Hidalgo, Kleberg, San Patricio, Aransas, Jim Wells, and Refugio counties.
This funding will help us expand access to care for dogs and cats in South Texas, especially in underserved communities where affordable veterinary services are limited. Through this program, we will continue working to reduce unwanted litters, help keep pets healthier, and decrease the number of animals entering shelters. The DSHS program is intended to increase high-volume, low-cost spay and neuter services in both urban and rural communities across the state.
We are grateful to be part of this statewide effort and proud to continue serving the communities that need us most.
